Taxes: End Them Forever Through the Simons Plan

April 21, 2010

SEAL BEACH, Calif. (MMD Newswire) April 20, 2010 — Property
Taxes: End Them Forever Through the Simons Plan by social scientist Gilbert Simons seeks to provide a solution to unemployment and the problematic American economy by putting an end to annual property taxes. “As a researcher, I recognized that property taxes were a staggering burden on the middle class, the poor and the elderly on fixed incomes. This double taxation has caused a massive slide by millions of middle class families towards poverty, as well as many losing their jobs, their health insurance, their homes,” explains Simons.
“I also believe it is a major reason why American households have the lowest savings and the highest debt of any households in the industrial world.”

In Property Taxes, Simons is convinced that eliminating all property taxes, with the proviso that for three years the majority of Americans must spend their property tax refunds on housing or construction-related expenditures, will restore the economy.
He goes on to assert that these expenditures will infuse over a trillion dollars into the housing industry, and this boom would then require the housing industry to hire 30 million unemployed workers into well-paying, permanent, non-exportable jobs.
According to Simons’ plan, the tax would be permanently eliminated without conditions after three years.

The plan, according to Simons, requires no increase in local, state or federal taxes, nor would it cost local governments a loss in revenue. Simons also points out that a portion of the trillions of dollars in increased federal revenue from the added income tax and the reduced unemployment costs could be used by the federal government to reimburse local governments their lost property tax revenues. Simons also believes that the balance can be used to reduce the federal debt and argues that current economic plans cost trillions without any direct effect upon the tax payers.

“My plan, if put into a federal bill, immediately puts thousands of dollars into the pockets of all Americans, Democrats, Republicans, homeowners and renters alike, where it will have an immediate impact,” asserts Simons.
